High Court sitting in Calabar, the Cross River State capital and managed by Justice Blessing Egwu. has condemned one Jide Afolabi Sunday to life imprisonment for bathing his girlfriend with acid after she wouldn’t acknowledge his proposition to be engaged.



33-year-old Sunday was accused of attempted murder on his lover, Glory Sylvester Ita, whom he poured acid on, CrossRiverWatch reports.



He was in police custody for quite a long time in the wake of being arrested for the wrongdoing that impacted Glory’s abdomen;. an ear and breast were cut off and ruthlessly burnt because of the hot impression of the destructive substance.

As indicated by one of the declarations, after the convict poured her the corrosive, he intended to push her inside a pool to suffocate.

Justice Blessing Egwu, in her judgment, sentenced him to life detainment with pay of N10 million for harms.
